Siemens in Wendell, North Carolina seeks an Automation Engineer for Manufacturing Controls & Station Solutions supporting the US manufacturing network. Evaluate manual assembly and wiring processes to identify automation opportunities. Collaborate with operators and manufacturing engineers to define station-level requirements. Design, program, test, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems, industrial sensors, and HMIs. Develop pilot solutions that improve workstation productivity, visibility, material flow, order status tracking, and operator guidance. Conduct bench testing and production validation for safety, quality, reliability, and performance. Support installation, startup, and commissioning. Partner with Industrial IoT, manufacturing systems, and data engineering teams on equipment connectivity. Evaluate external automation partners and technology options.
