Mechatronics Application Engineer

Festo Corporation seeks a Mechatronics Application Engineer (MAE) covering Seattle, WA or Portland, OR to grow North American market share with motion control and advanced mechatronic products. Provide technical advice to sales, distribution partners, and customers on applications and production processes. Develop relationships with customer controls engineers; support onsite prototype startups and proof-of-concept work using third-party PLC software, network configuration, and device integration. Maintain software application libraries to streamline commissioning. Evaluate technical/commercial feasibility of proposals; identify and secure projects; create marketing technical content; share knowledge across North American MAE and Technical Support teams. Travel for training and customer visits. Requires BS in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering; 5–10+ years in controls engineering/project management/sales/technical support in industrial automation; IEC 61131-3 experience; familiarity with CODESYS, Rockwell Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 and/or Omron Sysmac Studio; motion control, PLCs, distributed I/O, and servo sizing.
